Who we are

Modest Home Makeover is a grassroots community effort to help the Hallfrisch family sustain a healthy living environment by building them a safe new home, enabling them to better dedicate their lives to the children and families they serve. With this project we aspire to create a model that will empower others to follow our example in their communities.

Counting down to the Celebration!

Let the count down begin!! We are 9 days away from officially being done with this home building venture! Campaign Status


Our goal is to raise $60,000. Donated funds will benefit the Hallfrisch family and enable them to continue to invest into our community.
All funds will be used to cover expenses and materials related to building the new home, any remaining funds will be used to pay-down the existing mortgage. A significant portion of labor related to this effort is donated volunteer labor from our community.

Wonderful things have happened due to many wonderful people who have given their time to work towards bringing this project to completion. The outside of the house is finished! The inside is looking more like home every day. The walls are primed and will be painted this week. Modest Home Makeover officially kicked off the fundraising campaign with the press conference on Wednesday. Mayor Don Ness joined the MHM staff, a multitude of contractors and the major broadcast networks over the lunch hour to help MHM officially launch!.



Roger and his staff worked hard to secure drywall contractors and an Electrical contractor. BJ Construction will help us with the mudding and framing work, Richard Ward will help with Drywall - and Great Lakes…

Fox 21's coverage of the project has given Modest Home Makeover some excellent pre-launch exposure and so thanks to Nathanael and Nick for that.

On the construction side of things, Norm from Livgard Surveying has successfully negoiated an agreement with the City Engineer's Office to allow a new water service to be put in from the existing water main at Orange St and Kissel Ave, across Orange unto the Hallfrisch property. No water main…
